Research is ongoing to determine the place of execution of 22 kidnapped Paine Disappeared on 16 October 1973.
In an effort to standardize the information provided by various media, in relation to the discovery of human bones in an area near the Rapel River would correspond to the place of murder of 22 our families, the Association of Relatives of the Disappeared and Executed by Paine (Paine AFDD) informed the community that after meeting with the Minister Solis and teams of experts who work there, we were informed that found at the scene, shell casings, bullets (Relating to rifles of 1968 or 1973), holes in a wall for bullets, pieces of cloth and shoes and several bone pieces for the human body. In the place the family could see that the skills are being made with all the rigor that corresponds to a case of this magnitude. In the words of Judge Solis, conditions would appear to indicate that yes it was a place of execution but can not yet established whether it is due to the case of arrests October 16, 1973, by Army Colonel Andrew Magaña Civil Bau with the area.
The operation was the most important among the cases of disappearances and executions carried out in Paine. The morning of October 16, military-supported civilian army Paine recognized 22 people abducted in a convoy that passed through Central and settlement Paine "April 24" also called "The Alley of widows" by the amount of women who were alone with their children after this terrible operation.

The Association explains that the findings have not been identified as belonging to the Disappeared and reiterates its appeal to media to maintain the utmost caution and ethical responsibility to the information given to avoid unnecessary suffering to family and community. Finally, we express our sincere thanks to all who have expressed their support and strength for the complex moments which relatives of the Disappeared.
