1. Be hospitalized only if the care they require can not be provided at home or through outpatient treatment.
2. Be informed as appropriate for their age and maturity level, about their illness and treatment.
3. Stay with their parents or other family all the time of hospitalization This support is intended to feel protected, safe in an environment of love and family warmth.
4. Share your hospitalization with other children who have the same development and, except in cases of extreme need, should not hospitalazrse with adults.
5. Be protected from pain and to avoid the stress, anguish and unnecessary worries.
6. Have the opportunity to play, recreation and educated according to their age and health conditions and possibilities of the hospital.
7. Care remain sensitized and trained personnel to meet the physical and emotional needs of children and their families.
8. Be treated with love and understanding and their privacy should be respected in all circumstances.
9. The staff of the health institution should inform and educate the parents about the routine of hospitalization and treatment to share and cooperate in caring for their children.
10. Should be invited to participate in clinical trials or tests, parents should be informed in detail about the procedure and, once understood, must authorize in writing (such consent reported). The child or young person after receiving notice is entitled to express their opinion and participate in making decisions about whether or not to participate in these tests.
